Now that I have a daughter on the way, I need a bigger car. How much of a difference is there having an avant vs a sedan. I know the seating capacity is the same for both but does the expanded rear of the avant really offer a lot more cargo space.
My other options are wait for the A6 2.7T Avant or the new S6. The only thing about the S6 I don't like is that it is an NA engine. To me, all S cars should be turbocharged.

With the seats up, the extra cargo space is pretty limited - especially considering that the sedan has a good size trunk, but the real advantage is that its sectioned off interior space. For me it's the only easy way to transport my dogs. With the seats down, I can also carry bikes and large boxes with more ease.

One nice new feature is the retractable net that lets you pile things in the back without them being rocketed forward in a quick stop (keeps the pups back there too).

The A6 will be bigger in every way which is good and bad...

I've also gone on a couple trips where I packed more stuff into the back than I could with my sedan. You gotta love the fast stealthy wagon idea too.....
