Hey....I have an idea....let's just do away with tires and suspensions altogether!!!.......
Okay....this whole thing about bigger wheels, skinnier sidewalls, and no fender gap has gotten out of hand. Let's get some things straight...
The whole trend started with bigger wheels needed to accomodate bigger BRAKES. If you don't have bigger brakes, you don't need bigger wheels. There is no data whatsoever to prove that there is any performance benefit to any tire aspect ratio less than 45 or 50. If the idea was to try and imitate the "look" of a fast car, the boat is still missed. Look at the wheel/tire set-up on most race cars. I doubt you will see many 20 inch wheels. Infact, when your wheels start to get this big, performance is actually hindered. The wheel is too heavy, and there is too little sidewall on the tires to handle sheer forces while turning. Also, if you are going to slam your car so low to the ground that it can't clear a pebble, why not just get rid of the suspension altogether, and just install straight rods! The word "suspension" does in fact imply that the vehicle is SUSPENDED!!! Why....because public roads are not race tracks. Honestly, does everything have to be carried to the point of ridiculous detrimental excess!! Maybe I should slam my car so low that it actually scrapes out the pavement...won't that be so cool.

You are WAY to serious about this....Bigger wheels simply look better that smaller wheels.
I am certain that 99% of all people will agree. So relax this is not being carried to the point of ridiculous detrimental excess!!

I agree upto a point. After that it starts to look silly in my opinion......
but, that's just my opinion. Of course, being in my 30's, I could be just too old and conservative for current trends, but this "PHaT riDe" needs to go on a diet.
