question..... brief

I was on my way up to my office, about an hour ago. I was racing a TL type S. At about 120mph and around 7000 rpms I heard a loud pop coming from the engine bay. The car seems to be running fine. Any ideas of what it could have been?

Yep, your car is like a woman...it has a speed barrier cherry...you popped it today :-P

j/k dunno...maybe you had a misfire or backfire? Or you may have hit something in the road and didn't notice it...like a paper cup, those can be quite loud.

Could you have popped one of your hoses off?

I know there have been reports from people popping hoses off the intercooler, and think the TBB has popped off on some peoples' cars.

Did you check under your hood? Everything look normal? If it was loud enough for you to hear at 120

and 7000 RPMs, it must have been something. Also, you should have shifted earlier, the car doesn't have much pull at 120 and 7000. How we did the TLS hold up?
