Questions about removing brake calipers
I'm gonna paint my calipers and want to remove them from my Imola.
Is it a difficult task?
Do I need any experience?
What kind of tools do I need?
Do I have to remove the rotors as well?
Any online instructions?
Thanks a lot.<p>'00 Imola 6-speed (8000km)

Caliper removal
I've never done it on an S$, but on all my other audis, its fairly easy:
1. Remove wheel
2. Support car by jack points (not in that order!)
3. How you gonna paint it? Remove from brake line or work under the fender?
4. If later, have a wire hanger to support the caliper - dont stress the brake line
5. Caliper should remove from hub with 2 TIGHT bolts
6. 19mm on older audis, dunno on newer.
7. Hold one end with box wrench
8. Turn other with long ratchet or breaker bar, extension, 6 point socket
9. Pull her off.
10. Hopefully, the caliper will nto ooze shut on you. Mine did not.
