Default Questions for you guys that run on aftermarket brake pads....

I just replace my front brake pads with the "Red Box" pads to go with my OEM rotors about a month ago. Now the other day the warning low pad light came on. I shut the car off and it went away, but now it came on again the other day and it's been on ever since. So my question is are there sensor wires on the rear pads, or is something F'ed up with the wires in the fronts?

Also when you buy the pads without the sensor wires, how do you get rid of the warning light on the dash? Cause maybe i can get away with just doing that if everything seems to be "OK".

TIA

There are no sensor wires on the rear pads. Pull of your front wheels and check the connections.

To get rid of the warning light all you need to do is short the sensor wires - I ripped off the sensor wires from an old set of pads, shorted the connections and plugged it in.

Default no rear sensors, and for the pads with no sensor wires , you just short the 2 wires

that come out of the plug and go to the pad . just strip them and turn them so they connect al the time. i had a pair of old pad plugs/wires that i used with my carbotechs(bc they have no wires).

2nd, check connections, mine were very difficult to get to 'snap' closed.

I've got an elegant solution for you if you want to run sensorless pads :-D
