quick question. is 8x18 ET 45 5/112 , 235/40 R 18 tires too big for us?

Default quick question. is 8x18 ET 45 5/112 , 235/40 R 18 tires too big for us?

some people say the 235/40 18 tire is too big for us.. is that true?

Completely depends on the tire, a 45 offset might not be enough to clear inside.

and it uses a 225-wide tire.

Default It's probably going to rub on the suspension..

I can think of someone who used 18x8 et43 and 235 width tires that did.. so et45 most likely will.. just get some 10mm hubcentric spacers if you really want to run that wheel and you will be fine...
5mm might even be enough..

Default No way a 235/40-18 will clear the inside upright with an ET45...

...this based on my experiences with 235/40-18's on an ET35. ET40 would be really, really close with S-03's (which are really about a 240 width even though labeled a 235), but probably fine with narrower 235's of another brand.

Default calculations state

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 6mm LESS

The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 6mm

not sure what this means
