Raced a Camaro tonight...
I was stopped at a red light and a white Camaro Z28 pulls up next to me. The passenger motions for me to roll down my window.
"Is that yours, how much was it?"
Yes, it's mine. $40,000
"It has twin turbos and all wheel drive, right."
Yes
"So how fast is it?"
You want to find out?
"Sure, let's go."
I didn't launch very hard, only about 2000rpms. We raced to about sixty, and I was ahead by a car length.
But here's the best part. While slowing down for the next light, an old man on the sidewalk pumps his fist and yells slow down. So while the people in the Camaro and I were laughing our asses off, we exchanged thumbs up.

I raced a Firebird Formula last night. Was talking at the light. Did not know he was going to race it so hit it in first after starting off normal. Had him by half a car then second he pulled up even just before third had him by about one car. Forth I was two and a half and pulling it seemed. Had to slow down for traffic and next light. He said I would have had you if we did not have to slow down. I just smiled and said yes to bad I did not launch for a race and not bad for a four door. LOL! He was cool about it all.

I will say there are some fast Stangs, Camaros, and Firebirds around here. I will play with a newer Vette but know my *** will be handed to me with them. I owned a 93 Vette I had mods on that would dust my S4.

I have a camaro story too.
I was going thru CT on 84 or 91 (forget) and as I was going thru a toll, I noticed that a camaro pulled out of the toll plaza in a spirit fassion....I grinned and gunned it and passed him...then slowed up, gave each other the look and the chase was on. We took it up to 120 and I hadn't even gotten to 6th. I was ahead when I decided to not take the risk of a ticket...

i have one too.
I used to own a 98 Camaro. Bone stock I ran a 13.4, which is what I run now with an X chip and Borla. In street form spinning through 1st and 2nd gear, I ran a 12.8 on bald street tires an then a 12.6 on drag radials. On nitrous and drag radials I ran an 11.98. I wish I still had that car, this car feels slow compared to that one. =) No offense to anyone, but I used to love pulling up to guys who think they were fast in the 13's in their S4's and M3's and smoke them like it was nothing. If I really wanted to rub it in then I'd spray on them for embarassment.
