Default Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire

I have a 2000 S4...

My car was running fine...a CL was on, and was about to check codes, but hadn't yet...

I then filled my gas tank at Safeway--I've had some sputtering issues and a temporary CL when I've been there before, but it was the only one close and I was worried that I'd run out...

I drove 10 miles home, shut off the car, then a couple hours later started it again and had an obvious misfire...engine was shaking and loping...

Checked the codes and had a number of them including cam sensor read error, N75 Open Circuit, Cat sensor error, Random/Multiple Cilinder Misfire, and Cylinder misfire on 2, 4 and 6... !!!

Checked the coilpacks, replaced the spark plugs, cleaned the injectors, then got N75 Open Circuit, Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire and Cylinder misfire on 2...

Checked the ICM's and now I get Cylinder Misfire on 5...

Injectors seem to be fine, I have compression, but the intermittent misfire on different cylinders has me stumped...

any ideas?

Check the 2.7t forum as well. There are specific measuring blocks in VAGcom that can help you troubleshoot/eliminate suspected culprits. I do not have that knowledge, but some there might.

so, what I did was to replace both ICM's AND the coil pack on the last cylinder that was giving me the misfire AND the boost control valve and it cleared the misfire codes...

...now I have a catalytic converter code...dammit...
