FYI. here's the info:

Hey all,
Let me start off by saying "Thank You" in advance to everyone who has been
supporting this event and spreading the word. This is shaping up to be the
best one yet. Once again, this fundraiser is Feb 3rd at Jones Beach, Field 4
from 10am till 3pm for the JDRF. I wanted to go over a few things in advance
for everyone:
1) Directions
2) Current list of Donations to be raffled
3) Things to bring to fundraiser
Let's start it off with......
1) Directions:
From out of state (coming from west of Nassau County)
Obviously you can get on to the island a few different ways, so I'll post
directions from the three main highways that you will encounter no matter
which way you choose to take......
a) from northern points: you will take the Grand Central Parkway East until
you get into Nassau County and then the name changes to Northern State
Parkway. NSP EAST to Wantagh State Parkway SOUTH. WSP SOUTH until you hit
the Jones Beach Tower. When you approach the tower make a right and Field 4
will be first parking field on your right side.
b) from western points: take LIE (495) EAST until you hit Northern State
Parkway EAST. Stay on NSP EAST until you hit Wantagh State Parkway
SOUTH....then follow same as above once on WSP.
c) from southern points: take Belt Parkway EAST until it merges with
Southern State Parkway EAST. Take SSP EAST to Wantagh State Parkway SOUTH
(approx Exit 28 off SSP)....then follow diections as mentioned in section a.

From Eastern Long Island to Jones Beach:
a) Take LIE WEST to Sunken Meadow/Sagtikos Parkway SOUTH. Take SM SOUTH to
Ocean Parkway WEST. Take OP WEST until you hit the Jones Beach Tower, go
directly around tower and Field 4 will be first field on your right.

2) List of Donations to be Raffled:
- Bentley Publishers (2 items) a) Book titled "Audi: A History of Progress"
b) $100 gift cert. toward anything in Bentley catalog.
- ClubH2O (various items) stickers, shirt, keychains
- 1552 Design: $100 gift certificate
- VWVortex: shirts, hats, etc....
- Adrenaline: three separate dyno pulls. basically three winners will win
one dyno pull for free each and each additional pull will be at discount
price.
- Turn2: $100 gift certificate
- Forced Motion: Five (5) $100 gift certificates that can be used to
purchase a stainless steel turbo-back exhaust for a 1.8T GTi. once again,
that's five separate winners!!!!
- New Dimensions: $100 gift certificate
- CFI Motorsports: $100 gift certificate
- Tire Rack: has offered promo material to be handed out (stickers, etc..)
........that's 14 individual winners and a ton of free handouts!!!

3) Things to Bring:
a) Warm Clothes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
b) Bring lunch. There is a deli five minutes away up the Wantagh
Parkway....so you can split when hungry and grab lunch and come back within
20-25 minutes.
c) There are no bathrooms near the parking field. (no bushes either )
Therefore, make sure you plan ahead for NO port-a-potties.
d) Bring money. This is a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation. You can only win the prizes by buying raffle tickets. The
tickets last year were approx $10 - $20 each. We raised close to $900 total.
This year will be the same format. If each person brings $20, the JDRF would
do very well.
e) Bring a thermos with hot cocoa for me!

I believe that's all I can think of for now. Any questions can be posted as
reply to this thread and I will try my best to answer them. Once again,
thank you very much for your support and I look forward to seeing all of you
this Sunday!!!!!

One note, from the Soutern State Parkway, Wantagh South is Exit 27S.
