Default Reading donp's intercooler mister article - has anyone else done this? General thoughts on IC mist?

Since summer is approaching, I'm not looking forward to the power loss from all the heat . I don't want to mod my car a whole lot more (since it has 73k on it), or install any mods than are hard to part out (which means RS4 intercoolers are out of the question).

Using the headlight washer system to mist seems like a fairly easy thing to do, since my current nozzles get stuck anyway and I hate them spraying water all over my clean hood when I use them by accident (and I never need them, I keep my car clean). Has anyone done this?

DonP's setup looks nice and easy - Check it out

Or does anyone have any thoughts on IC misters in general - are they worth the work, are they a pain, etc etc.

Thanks!

Yep. It helps. Nothing night-and-day, but its help is noticeable.

Would it make more sense to get alcohol injection?

Default I've got both. ;-)

Although I think my intercooler mister pump crapped out a couple months ago. It's been "winter" so I haven't messed with replacing it yet.

Default Interesting, what kits do you have for both?

My manager is getting alcohol injection for his Supra, and is trying to convince me to get the same. Is it basically like running race gas all the time?

If I had to chose one, which do you think would offer the most gains for the cost?

Thanks!

Default i've had the autospeed mister kit installed since ~mid 2002

like Lance said, not a night and day diff w/the IC misters. if i was to go down this route again, i'd probably do an aquamist setup instead (or get better ICs).

http://www.funkadelic.org/gallery/ic_misters</a

Default Autospeed/Aquamist...

...the Aquamist kit seems to show that it's more effective, but I haven't really done the testing to conclusively say.
