Received a ticket for 66 mph in a 55 zone

Received a ticket for 66 mph in a 55 zone
from Florida Highway Patrol. The trooper submitted the ticket to the clerk of the court a few dates late, in contravention of Florida Law and his FHP rules. I set a court date and am toying with arguing technicalities and against the admission of the radar evidence. Any suggestions and/or experts?

Why don't you try disecting the calibration date of the radar gun??? As an engineer, all equipment must be calibrated on an annualy basis...All this should be available from their records department...

I wouldn't do that. I would review your point system and figure out at what point you don't get any
points. So for example if I got that ticket in PA (11 over the speed limit), I would tell the judge that I have a good record and could he see to it that I do not receive any points. To do this, he simply knocks it down to 6 over at which point I receive no points. You still pay the fine, but at least your insurance premiums won't jump 15% and stay there for the next 3 years : )
