Recomendations on re-alligning the driver's side door?

Recomendations on re-alligning the driver's side door?
Does anyone have any advice/instructions on how to do this? I know it's not going to be easy, but I think it was never done _perfectly_ (it had to be removed at some point).
The dashboard and the window sill don't meet up as perfectly as the passenger side. And the door feels/sounds like it's starting to drag along the sill when I open/close it.
I'd be willing to do it myself even if it takes me all day and 3 people to get it done
It can't be THAT complicated... I mean it's a door. Difficult because of weight and alignment issues.. sure.. but complicated.. I doubt it. Right?
