the thickness is what matters. check your fluid level, top up if you don't like the light
or replace pads if they are getting low.
if the pads are like new, then you should top up but keep an eye on the fluid level. if it leaks it could be disaster down the road, but you'd prolly feel a mushy pedeal already or brake fluid near the master cylinder or slave.

Wasn't really trying to pick on you alone; I guess it's just a pet peeve of mine that a lot of
people really don't know the difference (I know some do it incorrectly just for fun). Just felt like jumping on this one - nothing personal meant by it! Hope it's nothing too serious.
