Regarding the instrument cluster failure referenced yesterday, could using "tape" help?
Especially in a situation where lines come and go intermittently? Maybe putting tape along the ribbon to give it added structural strength could help keep it from splitting, or from splitting further from where it is beginning to split?

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2114598.phtml</a

The problem is that the copper has already split....
even if it's still under the lamination. Taping it from the beginning might not be a bad idea but for clusters that have already gone out, I think it's too late for tape.

Well, if the copper's already split, and the lines intermittently work, wouldn't that mean...
...that it's making contact sometimes, and the tape can help it stay in contact?
