Default REGARDLESS of your tuner. you guys better watch your so-called "tuned" k04 kits....I was wrong about

this kit working flawlessly. I finally get a chance to do some good logs with the car in tip-top shape, and it seems that the ECU is holding it back. This is an AMS tuned, k04 kit. It's a 2000 S4. Before you start asking about flawed components on the car, please save your breath. This is similar to what we were seeing on Nick's k04 car, which was tuned by GIAC. Do any tuners have a response for this? Do you log Throttle position when you program these ECU's?

I am seriously thinking about testing out an APR chip or MTM chip to see if there is a throttle-cut problem. APR or MTM, could you help out here?

Anyone ever try hooking up a cable throttle? Quite frankly, after all the hard work we put into this, it's a huge disapointment to have something, that is out of our hands, yet was released, hold us up.

Mike

Default If the chip tuners were good, they would offer a "sport" FBW throttle option like the E46 M3. Goes

to show (along with your K04 findings) that we are getting low-tech software. I still say I get less boost in first gear too.

Default hey Phoenix....

do you know if the older euro-s4's had cable throttles before it came to the US? They had 2-piece headlights...that's a start

Sorry, don't know much at all, other than that the chips we get are basically boost controllers.

Default that's alright. It's just frustrating knowing that something only worthy of an alpha or beta status

is sold.

Default Mike, Euro cars had Bosch ME7.1 in 1998 IIRC.

TB code is part of this code spec/release. Of course I don't guess you "have" to use it. I think all 2.7tts have DBW TBs.

Got a gentleman in Switzerland who had a '99 model. Will see if I can get my parents to get some info from him next time they speak.

Default ok..take a look at the throttle position (yellow) as the car is being accelerated...

even though your foot is to the floor and you're trying to rev up, the throttle plate shuts. the MAF dips and the timing is not advanced, in turn.

so far, no one has offered an explanation to this, and we've been seeing this for months in other k04 cars.
