You may want to disconnect the battery.
Remove airbag from steering wheel. There are two torx bolts on the back side of the wheel. Disconnect the small yellow connector. I had to squeeze the connector with my lucky pliers to get it off.

You need a 12m triple square to remove the steering wheel. After the bolt is out, it's easy to remove the steering wheel. Don't pull the steering wheel upward until you have a chance to mark it.

Here's the 12m triple square bit. I had to use a breaker bar on it to break this bolt loose. It's tight!

There's the steering wheel bolt and nut.

With the wheel removed you can see the plastic contactor. I forget the proper name. Remove it by carefully pulling plastic catch tabs.

There are three screws that attach the bottom plastic piece to the aluminum steering bracket. Then there are two phillips screws that go in from the bottom that hold the two plastic halves together. (all of the screws go thru the bottom plastic cover) I didn't completely remove the top half due to my boost gage. The steering adjustment lever goes thru the bottom half, so I just let it hang as shown.

Remove the switch assy from the steering column by loosening the clamp bolt and carefully disconnecting all of the connectors. Two long screws hold the two halves together. It's obvious once you get it off the column. Here you can see the long plastic catch tabs on the rotary contactor.

There's all of the connectors. I had to use a flat head screwdriver to pry them loose. You can't get slack in the cables to see what you're doing.

This shows loosening the clamp bolt. The switch assy has a plastic key in the center bore for proper orientation, so don't bother marking it for orientation before you remove it.

Now my steering wheel looks dirty compared to the new switch!

Here's the tools I used, besides the breaker bar. I used the pick to hold the lower plastic cover to help get the plastic hooks aligned. They have a plastic hook at the front edge to connect the two halves. You'll see when you get them apart. 12m triple square bit, T25 torx bit, T30 torx bit, 14mm allen bit, small phillips screwdriver, and my lucky Kmart piers

The pn for the stalk, as shown on the dealer receipt, is 4DO953-513-M-01C. The "01C" means it's black. List price is $194.40 but I got it for a mere $174.96. If you have time you can mail order it.
APR anti-theft is rough on the cruise control buttons.

I know someone who will start teaching kaplan classes soon. He said I can take a peek at his teachers book. I'm using powerscore LR & LG books, lsac superprep, and 50 actual prior test. I might pay and take the kaplan full lengh class, since it's the only one around here. Was it worth $1k for you? thanks
