Default Replace you fuel filters early and often!

I just replaced mine... The old one was plugged to the point that I could not blow air through it manually.

The new one is in, and my car is running like a raped ape.. Stronger than ever.

My car has 53K on it and this is at least its third filter, as I am the second owner and the one I took out was not OEM.

That is all.

Where is it, and is it easy to replace?

Default Quite near the fuel tank, on the rear, passenger side...

It's a thirty minute job if you've got access to a lift. Otherwise, it might take an hour or so, I suppose.

Default Yes, and eventually, when I am completely happy with a "finished" car, I will share...

...but suffice it to say, I think even the mighty Simmply might be surprised at the result, but I am making no claims of faster, better, or superior to ANY other car.

The goal is Christmas.

Default I had been running almost exclusively a blend of...

Trick/Sunoco 101 and Unocal 76 91. However, I haven't a clue what was run in the car for the first 48,000 miles.

Default Well... that much is true... and I haven't made such claims, nor will I ever...

I don't sweat "faster than", and you know this. I only sweat "fast enough for me". If that happens to be faster than something else, that's gravy.

I've been alive long enough to know that there's ALWAYS a faster car...

The bottom line is, what's better for you is not necessarily better for me, and if I really wanted to build a fast car, I damn sure wouldn't have started with a 3600 lb. Audi.

Anyway... if I were you, I'd recommend that my clients change fuel filters every 15 or 20 thousand.
