Default Replacing Audi O2s with VW O2s...how did you rewire them?

Some people are telling me solder, some are saying no way...

What have people done on their cars? Has it worked?

Theoretically, what's the best way to do it?

Default here

I took two of the VW sensors (36 bucks at jobber cost) and cut the wires, i then spliced with butt splices and used silicone in the end of each splice to seal them, the shrink wrapped them...no dtc's etc.

worked great, i lengthened them both just to have something to work with.

I spend all kinds of time before making sure the same white wires were matched up when i just lengthened before, i dont think it matters now, just make sure all the colors match.
