Repost: AWE downpipe install done!
My initial impressions....WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spoolup is so much faster now, the mid and top end power is AMAZING with very little loss on the bottom.
I found myself hitting redline in 2nd and 3rd gears because I couldn't feel the car slow down at all. The car just RIPS through the gears now and pulls strong to 6,500/7,000rpm without that feeling of the car slowing down.
I did have one small problem but my installer (Mike Staley) was able to work around it. My passenger side downpipe had the 02 sensor welded in the wrong spot. It was under the heat shield (basically rotated too far). The heat shield can't be turned or moved so Mike cut away the section that was covering it. Sorry, no pics as i didn't have my digital camera. I have a nice Polaroid though...anyone got a scanner?
Other than that things went pretty good. I am going tomorrow or Thursday to have my exhaust welded as I have too many leaks now. Those POS clamps that came with my Milltek just don't work.
Oh and for those that are wondering how it sounds....it isn't really much louder than what a Borla would be and you hear the turbos a lot more now!
I HIGHLY recommend you getting these!!!

That's aftermarket for ya! ;p
Hopefully, your 02 port will be in the right spot. Something else to keep in mind....clip all the zip-ties to the rear 02 sensors or they won't reach.
The rear 02 sensors on the AWE pipes are pretty far back but I had enough wire to reach them.
Wait till you do a 4th to 3rd downshift under WOT! The sound is MUSIC!!!

No doubt on the Miltek .. I'm going to have mine welded also .. Just not sure if I should do DP's.
Is the performance incease worth the cost for DP's ? I've been on the fence ..
THANKS
