Repost for working crew and AWE and GIAC" Statements made about GIAC:"
Todd and others have made the blatant statement of "Giac doesn't remove many of the safety measures as other tuners do"
You care to fill us in on these "safety measures" That you are saying other tuners remove from their coding but Garret leaves in? It's tough to leave an open ended statement like that alone without getting real data...
The link below brings you to the previous thread, so you don't have to repeat anything..<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/918550.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/918550.phtml</a</li></ul>

Throttle body controller valve malfunction
I asked for help with this DTC I and others have seen when running X-chips in H boxes. Reportedly, other chips would suppress this code, or require a greater deviation to trigger it.
I don't know. I've checked everything I can with the VAG and it seems to be fine.

I suppose that is possible. But I would suspect that it is done equally...
With an ABT program I would get intermitent Mass Air High Flow Circuit DTC's where as with an X program I would never. The X may be cushioned for a higher deviation to flip a code.

there has been
some things airing around the TT forum.. A lot of if you don't like hearing tuners mess with your DTCs keep your car stock kind of bull****.. Someone posted that a company was deleting DTCs so a knock sensor didn't trigger a CEL light.. Now, that is only a rumor.. I tried to get some chipped CA TT owners to run some vag tests and look for knocking but no bites.. I did read up and find some posts on how a few cars went into limp mode after a few laps on the track.. One was a heavily modded TT running a race program.. Since I don't know enough about programming I really have no idea what you can conclude from something like that.. Another event that I came across was a TT owner that was running rich..well, his chipped ecu didn't throw a code, but he knew something was wrong so he popped in his stock ECU.. well after 3 days the stock ecu threw a code.. again, I have no idea what you can conclude from that.. Maybe someone could shed light???
