Default rs4 air box question...

for those of you who installed the rs4 airbox where did you tap the vacuum line that opens and closes the flap on the lower portion of the air box???

Default hmm .... i dont think people usually hook that up. i just ziptied mine open

kind of like the whole darintake idea with a hole in the bottom of the box. i dont have the guts to permanently gut it so i just ziptied the flap.

of course, like everyone else i am waiting for X1 racers intake

Default The RS4 has a solenoid that applies vacuum to the flap. The S4 doesn't so there is no good vacuum

source.
I used a pocketknife to push back the locking tabs on the flapper and slide the whole assembly out of a freind's RS4 airbox.

Default

Snap bell off, remove tube assy, remove flap and actuator, reinstall tube, reinstall bell. Done.

Default that's the best thing to do but I only shifted mine

I removed the two screws holding the flap actuator and pulled it out so the flap was open, then installed one of the screws to hold it there.
