RS4 clutch = garbage
#22
how many miles did it take for you to blow it up? Eriks4 on these forums has over 50k on his
rs4 clutch and I had over 35K on mine we both had seen the dragway. Both of our cars not driven lightly my car had been to the dragway at least 10 times at least 100 launches same with erik and it never slipped. Bad install?

105k spread between 3 of them
First installed @50k, when completely stock, when i first took posession of the car.
Second installed shortly after going stage 2, around 95k. It slipped and glazed up while passing somebody in 6th on the highway. Decided to change it instead of trying to unglaze it.
Third installed just before going Stage 3. I'm at 155k. I'd estimate I drove approximately 10k with the clutch in this condition. It was operating fine, not slipping, etc. I pulled out of home depot, went WOT into traffic (was already rolling about 1500 rpm) and that's when it let go.

I'm not really interested in paying somebody to fix Mark's mistakes
I'm in Phoenix. I spent way too much time trying to get support from him with no callbacks, no email replies, etc. Audible detonation, high correction factors, overboosting, and running pig rich are just some of the fun. I was sent a new file and all it did was pull back the mid range timing so the car feels like a slug mid range, unfrotunately in the process, I had to send my original file back.
I sent a lot of business their way, and in the end they burned me as they were too good to deal with K04 customers since the GT customers were more important...
Mark always insisted I had mechanical problems, but the funny thing is the car ran beautiful before I infected it with their software.
I stand firm behind the fact the car is mechanically solid.
It's my next issue to tackle after I get the clutch and trans done.

Jason, please email me your contact information...
I'm sorry you feel the way you do. To get a file revision should not cost you any money, it's free for all stage3 customers.
Please send your phone# and I'll personally figure out a way to make this right for you.
Sincerely
Mark

Uh yeah... I'll get right on that... as soon as I put my tranny back together...
In case you're wondering, I am wholly capable of correctly installing clutches.
