S4 oil feed lines ready for sale! Figured I'd kick off the product with .......Edit
A GROUP BUY!!!!
Pictures first. Here's the OEM passenger oil line on the turbo(AKA: the problem).

Here's the new braided line installed on the turbo. (This is the original prototype, and is roughly 4 inches longer than the final product)
<img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/54525/olinesonturbos_012.jpg">
This is what the passenger side turbo will look like with the new line, a similar shot from the first pic above.
<img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/54525/olinesonturbos_003.jpg">
This is a sample of the braided teflon hose used, along with the insulation sample that will be on the passenger side line of the final products.
<img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/54525/olinesonturbos_002.jpg">
Pic of the lines with no insulation. David Wyatt, if you called the shop, these lines are yours.
<img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/54525/olinesonturbos_001.1.jpg">
And last shot of the insulation on the sample line.
<img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/54525/olinesonturbos_003.1.jpg">
All of the pictures I called "sample" are at the shop to be played with & inspected for the locals, and will most likely be at waterfest as well.
Now, how much attention did I get by saying group buy? ;-P
For the first order of lines, we're going to offer them to you for $150 (+ shipping) instead of what will be the normal $175. There's no minimum number of orders, but we're looking for prepayment for the lines by July 30th. On August 2nd, we'll place the order, which will take between 2-4 weeks for us to get them, depending on the quantity ordered.
In order to avoid a massive volume of calls on the 30th, credit cards can be charged on the 30th. This will give us a better idea too, of what amount of lines we'll need to order, and may be able to pre-order some for early orders.
Thanks for your business!

Yes, I did! Check this out.....
They sent me the sample, and it kicked ***! I put a cigarette lighter to it for a minute, and it was cool to the touch.
Problem is, I couldn't get 3M to sell me the stuff. They wouldn't give me a price, and the communication between us was crap.
So, I sent the sample to the company that's manufacturing the lines, and he told me he had very similar stuff, but thicker & better, with the external reflective material as well. Oh, and not too spendy as well. (See the pics?)
Anyway, not that the 3M stuff was no good, IMO the stuff on the lines is as good or better, and will last. I didn't think the ends of that 3M stuff would do too well under the hood.

Ok, have to ask. You've made a rigid metal oil line into
a flexible teflon one covered by both braided stainless steel and insulation. Have you made sure that the "play" in the line won't harm anything as in wack against something else ot bring it closer to teh eshaust manifold? I take it the length has been optimized to protect against that?
Also, aside form the insulation, what stops someone from going down to a hydraulics shop and ordering one of these bad boys up (once someone has the dimensions down) themselves?
Also I thought you were going to enlarge the inner diameter? amybe iwas wrong.
Don't mean to be a *****, i think they are a great idea if all that has been considered and they do look top quality!

I don't think I understand the obsession with the ID...
Isn't the metering hole *on the turbo* much smaller than the ID on the oil lines? If so, then it doesn't make much difference what the ID on the lines are.

i'm not sure. I thought the oil port was enlarged on the newer turbos
i'm not sure where the bottelneck is, but larger ID(for the smaller of teh two) would be nice so as to allow for more volume and flow, but i guess the main point here is to move the oil line away from the exhaust mani a bit and to insulate it.
