Default S4 Seat Height -- Some way to adjust, down?

After trading my '96 A4 2.8 and getting in to my new S4, I noticed the seat was somewhat higher. So I hit the down button to find that it was at the lowest position. I know this has been addressed in the forum a couple of months ago, but has anyone figured a way to lower the seat any further, such as by modfiying the seat's feet, etc.

Default I need to do this, too - I have to sit ghetto style when I have a helmet on...

since I'm 6'4"...

someone mentioned they removed some padding - about an inch or so...

I haven't heard much more recently, tho...

I'd be interested in hearing what people do (yet retaining the stock seats ;-)

Default This is a major butt ache. Turns out all Germans must be dwarves.... :)

Your options are pretty limited

1) get the car w/out sunroof, adds about 1.5 inches
2) look at getting some padding (~ 1 inch) removed, should give you .5 inches or so
3) order after market seats, or look into getting the euro speced recaros. They are supposed to be much lower... Don't know price, but at a minimum I'm guessing ~5K to buy, ship, and install, assuming it's even doable. That would be for 2 seats... Airbags spook most reupholsters (for liability reaons) and you'll be hard pressed to find someone to do this
4) see your local surgeon. You don't really need both the L4 & L5 veterbra... I had the L5 removed and am down to about 5'11", perfect for the S4. however I'll need to do something about the extra fat around my waist now...
5) get the S6 w/2.7T. Nice car, and has at least 1.5 extra inches of headroom.. (I still went with the S4 however, and plan on removing padding.

Lemme know how the padding removal goes - I think I'm headed that direction...

Default hahahahaha... The l4 and L5 thing cracked me up..

Thats my only real complaint about the S4. The seats are so high in comparison to an A4.

Will do, but my car doesn't arrive until end of August so it'll be a while

Default It's been investigated...can't lower the seat w/o major modifications...

I was kind of ticked coming from my '96 A4 too. One of these days, I'm going to get some of the pad removed -- just be careful and don't have them remove too much the first time since you can always take more out; one guy took too much out and complained about the stiff seat bottom.
