Default S4 sounds...

I got a couple questions here...

ever notice that after you start to drive off in the s4 (after starting it up), you'll hear a little mechanical whir that sounds like something is locking or engaging or something like that from underneath the car? depending on how fast you are taking off, the sound might be quicker or slower, but there is definitely something going on, and it is related to how fast you are taking off for that first time. Somtimes i can coast out of a parking lot without hearing it, but as soon as i step on the gas to leave, sure enough, that sound "engages" down there. any clues?

Also, sometimes when im going slower, the car sounds a lot louder, especially as i cruise around in 1st gear (like moving through a parking lot or something), like a giant fan is on or something. whats that all about?

Default Both sounds have been discussed here before...

The consensus on the first sound is that it is the ABS system performing its initialization/self test.

The second sound is, I believe, the radiator fan. It is running because there isn't as much airflow at 1st gear speeds.
