Default Scratches

My S4 has scratches on the rear from the dealers magnetic plate. I didn't even notice it at delivery but the salesman did. They set it for the following week to repair. Looks like they used some light compound to remove them. They are not gone but far less noticable. I'm afraid to bring it up again for fear more compouding will just do further damage. Any thoughts?

I'm afraid you're screwed on this one, my friend. Same thing happened to me except the dealer hid the damage from me. I bought the car out of town (so it is highly inconvenient to return for the to "repair" it) and I was in somewhat of a hurry to take delivey so I couldn't go over it with a fine tooth comb.

There is nothing you can do to truly repair the car other than a recoat of the clear, but then you run the risk of a paint mismatch and it won't be baked on in a high-heat manner like at the factory. You can only minimize and hide the damage by using a swirl mark hider such as 3M's Imperial Hand Glaze or Finesse-It, available from body shop suppy stores. Then coat it with a high quality wax.

Default Don't do any more to it. Use 3M when the whole car could use the treatment...

Just leave it alone. Over time other sections will be worse, and deal with them all at once. Try to wait it out as long as possible. Wax the car and wash lightly every two+ weeks...

The more you screw with it, the worse it could get.

My advice...
