Default Security mods on the S4?

So apparently this information is like gold on this board, STFA turns up a bunch of posts about not posting information, so really what I am looking for is someone that I can exchange emails with that is willing to show me the fu ways of securing my S4 against being stolen, vandalized and parted....

I'm happy to exchange emails via my work email (well known very respectable company, making me easy to track ;P) for proof of who I am, will even meet in person if you are in Austin/San Antonio area.

I'm all for keeping information on the downlow if it helps prevent our cars from being targets, the flip side of that is lack of open information makes it difficult newbs like myself to secure our cars ;P

Default there are ways that folks have adopted that render the "old tricks" useless.

but if you want to cut to the chase, I would recommend Ravelco.

It takes them about 4 hrs to install. I have validation during a post install engine removal that it is seriously good.

http://www.ravelco.com/</a

Default who can i chat to about the "old tricks" as well... I'm not trying to prevent the master car thief..

just the joe schmoe thief, I sometimes have to leave my car parked at the airport for extended periods of time (2-10 days) I figure if someone wants my car that badly they'll get it but I don't want any 2 bit car thief to take advantage...

There is already an old clifford alarm system installed but frankly it's crap, it's probably from 2001 or 2002 (the brain is about the size of my laptop) so I'm trying to upgrade and secure myself as much as possible...

Candidly, I couldn't care less if someone steals the whole car and keeps it... what i don't want is someone to steal it and vandalize it and me have to pick up the pieces...

Default You're in TX, you're safe..........

Its NJ you gotta worry about theft of the whole car, and Boston for the headlight theft......

FWIW, easiest theft deterrent is this, IMHO:

Default Re: You're in TX, you're safe..........

haha... Well, Not sure Texas is entirely safe... I will admit I do park in the garage camera'd lots and go out of my way to make sure nothing looks inviting in my car.

What's the deal in NJ/Boston - why would those areas be any more prone to S4 theft/damage than other places?

Default Run a quick search

nm, here, a quick search, shows how many S4s have been stolen solely in NJ....

Don't know why these low-lifes steal them, the thrill? Gang initiation? Ease to steal the car, or the fact that police won't even try to keep up with them...

Default

you don't have to steer it to put it in on a trailer. (don't leave the wheel straight)
