Default semi x-post from wheel/tire

OK, I was curious what type of tires are you guys running that are living in potholed areas? Short jist of it, have 225/40 18 Falken's, and have since cracked one sidewall and cracked a rim. Ideas for better more durable/protective tires?

https://forums.audiworld.com/wheel/msgs/73763.phtml</a

If you are cracking 18s, go back to 17s and go with 235/50ZR17s. Safer.

Default 235's on 17's?? I wouldn't need to roll the fenders for that?

If not, then woudl I be able to squeeze 235's on the 18's in there?

How low you are you? You should be able to go 235/40ZR18.

Default Setting on stock suspension right now.

Eventually might run StaSIS TS, but not too low (26")

so 235/40 would fit? Anyone sure on the 235/45

On stock suspension you'll have no problems.

Default Cool, thanks, and you mean for the 235/40's right?

I just checked tirerack and 23545 are nill and far between, 235/40 a good size to run? Recommendations on tires? (will be summer/cruising only)

Yes, 235/40ZR18. Assuming a 8.0" to 8.5" wide wheel.

Default I believe its 8" wide, its the RS4 DTM ones

235/40's woudl give me better rim protection correct? any quick recommendations on tires that are best at absorbing bumps and such instead of tranfering to the wheel?
