Serious Question: S4 or 1995 Mercedes SL500? Please help.
Alright here's my dilemma. I have an S4 on order which should be here 2nd half of may. My uncle just decided to sell his 1995 Mercedes SL500 coupe w/24k miles on it. I have not had the opportunity to drive the Mercedes but I loved the S4's torque and ability to round corners at unusually high speeds. The Mercedes is 308hp though and is supposed to be the top of the line sports coupe.
They are both the same price and automatic/tip.
Which would you pick and why?
THanks.

So totally different cars.
The S4 is all wheel drive (great in all weather) and has room for four. The mercedes, is a convertible, with rear wheel drive, and is useless in bad weather, and can carry two. Performance wise, the Mercedes is probably a little slower, but they are both quick cars. Personally, I would not want to spend that much on a used car, when I could get a new one for the same amount.

S4.
Because this is the S4 forum ;P
Haven't driven an SL500, but having spent a few hours on my uncle's SL600, I can say it wasquick, smooth and agile, and also has the automatic ride height suspension, but it didn't have the 4 rings on it :P
Seriously though, I only get a 2 seater if I have enough 4 seaters for everyday use. The SL was the oldest running design they had. I'm glad they have a new - and awesome looking SL this year. The SL600 was very reliable though. It was imported from Europe which was one of his main commute vehicles from Belgium to Holland (300 miles in 2 hours). But I like the practicallity of the Sedan. Unless you like fun in the sun, don't get copy cat Lexus, get the SL then.
