Service Weekend, I'm Excited... need some input

Your looking at the whole stage 3 upgrade kit, you can do bare minimum (more)
for the sake of reliability. Just K04's, installation hardware, and inlet piping is bare minimum and can be had for about 2600. you can run that on a completely stock fueling system, even stock chip. At least you'd have the peace of mind of new, larger, more reliable turbos that have room to upgrade when the time comes. Then you can add the fueling, programming, full exhaust, intercoolers, etc etc etc whatever you want later and not have to worry about popping those unreliable K03's.

look up a couple of posts. Europrice just advertised some discounted K04's. or call Avalon. they
had a deal going.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2663409.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2663409.phtml</a></li></ul>

Thanks But No Thanks for the *tips*...
I can't pony up $2600... I guess I'll just have to be wary of the K03's... and getting back to my main post, I was thinking more towards "service" side...
(gaskets, etc)
and not *trying* to spend more money, and now, this is a thread about "you have to get the k04's..." which isn't a financial option...
The clutch is failing and the timing belt/water pump need replacing... which is why the engine is coming out... it's not like I'm just taking it out for no reason...

aren't headers $2-3k? i thought it'd be the same price range and a better choice.

2nd on europrice, they just posted a K04 sale. Look at it this way man..
yes the fueling will be expensive later, but you dont EVER have to do it. You could run K04's on stock fueling forever if you wanted to. But at least you know you'd never be stuck pulling your motor out AGAIN for a blown turbo(s). There's no way I'd be putting chipped K03's with 103,000 miles back in if my motor were out anyway. Mine were chipped and on their last leg at 60K. Not to say people dont get alot of life out of K03's, but those people are few and far between. i'd say 10% at best. Most of us either blew them or replaced them before 100k. I replaced mine before they exploded for peace of mind, and to save it spewing oil out my exhaust or possibly worse results.
Its up to you man, but I'm sure just about everyone would agree with what I said.

I don't disagree, I'm just saying it's out of my hands...
and I checked Eurocode and the "Turbo Upgrades" section was nearly as expensive as I speculated earlier...
Unless I was supposed to call.
