Default SHE'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After 10 weeks, 3 KO4s, 1 exhaust manifold, 1 motor pull....

2 head pulls and quite a headache (and quite a few $$$), my fiasco is over for now.

Damn, I forget how much fun a 6 year old car with 140,000 miles on it can be. There are very few cars on the road that can be as exhilirating as a Stage III S4.

(I've been slumming in my 996 and Trailblazer SS and I have to say, the S4 is waaay more fun.)

Thanks to all on this forum that have supported me during this headache provoking nightmare.

A special thank you to Mike2kS4, Porsche951, Jason E (forget your screen name, but appreciate the late night help in pulling the downpipes), WindyCityS4, Farbs (for watching me pull my downpipes), PiggieSmalls (or whatever you call yourself these days) and Piggie (for taking a few calls too).

There are others I forgot to thank specifically but I really appreciate all the help from everyone.

Oh, for those that don't know, DO NOT track your car if it is making any odd noises - - in my case, I had a bad exhaust manifold (causing a horrible rattle I assumed incorrectly was a heat shield). The manifold then spit a piece of itself into my driver's side KO4. Then, before realizing I had a bad exhaust manifold, put a new set of KO4s on and the new driver's side KO4 ate another small piece (pics to come).

Default Congrats!! Those manifolds are scary, has this been known to happen in other cases?

Is there a more reliable replacement?

Default it's the first failure of a stock manifold I've heard of. My mechanic who has been fixing....

Audis for years has never seen one fail.

There are replacements but not sure how much more reliable they are. They just wouldn't cause so much carnage if they failed.

I remember you were pegging them at 15, just wondering if that causes your high cf?
