Default which shifter has the most throw (closest to stock) and shortened the least (close to stock hight)

I like the leverage of the stock shifter but want to loose the rubbery feeling.

Default UUC at 20%. No height reduction. Install the "Tanoga" spacers for added smoothness.

APR's got UUC's on sale right now too.

Default Modify your stock shifter.

To eliminate rubbery feeling, you can remove the rubber bushing which surrounds the metal bushing and replace it with a solid sleeve. I'm sure you can find someone to do this simple thing for you. In the picture, this rubber bushing is the relatively clear thing in the big hole (stock location).

I modified my stock shifter by moving the metal bushing 20mm, and deleting the rubber bushing as shown, for a reduction of about 30%. This also involved modifying the matching piece.

do-it-yourself short shifter
