I like the leverage of the stock shifter but want to loose the rubbery feeling.

Modify your stock shifter.
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/10011/new_rod.jpg"></center><p>To eliminate rubbery feeling, you can remove the rubber bushing which surrounds the metal bushing and replace it with a solid sleeve. I'm sure you can find someone to do this simple thing for you. In the picture, this rubber bushing is the relatively clear thing in the big hole (stock location).
I modified my stock shifter by moving the metal bushing 20mm, and deleting the rubber bushing as shown, for a reduction of about 30%. This also involved modifying the matching piece.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/693935.phtml">do-it-yourself short shifter</a></li></ul>
