Shoping for S4

Shoping for S4
Folks:
I'm in search of a 6-spd S4. What exactly is the 'premium' and 'sport' packages? Also, do all the cars have stability control? What's involved in the 50K service? It seems that a lot of the cars are just shy of 50K, and those with +50K always make mention of the recent 50K service, implying to me that it is a major deal. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Jack

This will get you started:
Here are links to the AW model guide for the <a href="https://www.audiworld.com/model/historical/00/s4.shtml">2000.</a> Here is info for the <a href="https://www.audiworld.com/model/s4/01/specs.shtml">2001</a> with the addition of the Enhanced Sport Package info.
The 50k service is big because it sometimes is the last service covered under the warranty...so people need to get everything checked out before it is no longer free.
There are tons of threads about people "preparing" for their 50k service. Use the search function (others will tell you to STFA) and restrict it to this forum.
Good luck in your S4 search...their are a few guys selling theirs on this board...2k2s4's comes to mind.
Also, here is an <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1407640.phtml">AW Noob Guide</a> for the S4.

Hope this helps...
The Premium package (at least for the 2002 model year) included the sunroof, HomeLink transmitter, and auto-dimming inside and outside mirrors.
The Sport Package (Enhanced Sport package on the window sticker) was an appearance only thing, it included Nappa Leather seats with Alcantara inserts, silver aluminum interior trim (instead of wood), and aluminum mirror housings.
The 2001 and newer cars have what's called ESP, Audi's Electronic Stabilization Program.
I'm not sure what the 50k service entails, I'll check my service manual and get back to you. If you're really interested, check my sig. It's a 2002 6-speed with only 22,500 miles, so it's well inside the warranty (which ends at 4 years/50,000 miles, that my be why so many people are mentioning 50,000 miles). Also, a lot of people recommend changing the timing belt at 60,000 miles, rather than Audi's recommended 105,000 miles (I think that's the number).
BTW, do you have a 951? I'm actually looking for one to replace my S4 with. How has it been on maintenance, that's the only thing that turns me off of the 951.

Argh...tell me about it. I've already had to pass on the Car Guys 3-day event at Summit, the first
FATT, and I haven't signed up for VIR yet. :-(
I've found a number of nice cars, but I can't move on anything until I sell the S4. I thought I'd have plenty of time, track season sort of snuck up on me.
