Default Since the consensus on catbacks is that they don't do much other than change the exhaust sound...

Would it be a terrible idea to leave the stock catback on with K04s or K04 hybrids and aftermarket downpipes or piggie pipes?

Most people say that different catbacks are only worth a few HP...thoughts?

Default that is a bad idea imo .. and the catback does not just change the sound.

and dual > single.

Default Dyno charts would indicate otherwise regarding catbacks increasing power.

And it seems like the jury is still out on dual vs. single...nobody's got a side by side comparison on the same car.

the point is that with any mods moving more air up front needs bigger hole out back for same air...

Default Everything I've seen on chipped cars would also say that it's still a single-digit HP difference.

Never seen anybody with chip/DP/stock catback, but I'd be curious to see the results.

Now, nobody's bothered to have stage 3 without an aftermarket catback; maybe I will be the first when the time comes. I'll document it accordingly.

Default Why do you think stage 3 cars have aftermarket catbacks???

Think about it. There's more of a rationale than just 'sound'.

exactly! there's never been any concensus on here to that effect.
