Default Since the dealership is pulling my engine out to replace the turbos...

I know I should get the timing belt replaced, but do you guys think it's important to replace the water pump and all that other jazz that is in that "Ultimate Timing Belt Kit" for $260 or whatever? The car has 58,000 miles on it. Thanks for your input.

you wont be saving any money on the timing belt installation - but you should put in a new clutch/flywheel - but to answer your question if you are doing the timing belt yes you should do your water pump, oil seals, timing belt

I understand some dealers don't pull the engine to swap turbos - anyone know how it's done ?

Default Child labor, 'cause they have very small hands.

They still drop the engine assembly, but not completely out of the car. IMHO, this method allows for higher risk of additional damages to parts of the engine, since certain things are left connected & just "stretched" when the engine assembly is lowered. It's worth the extra time to completely remove the assembly, so you can see what you're doing, and know everything was done correctly.

Default yes is def worth to do a whole TB service (esp the water pump and the tensioner pulley)

Default That's how mine was done. The tech said that it probably would have freaked me out

to see my car's guts all over the floor! It all went back in without so much as a CEL. The guy did a fantastic job.

Default do you have any details how was done ?

i know the rear of subframe can be lowered around 12" to get to the turbos .. but that's pretty much all i know , no details (tips, what exactly to disconnect, what to be careful with..)
