I have a Yak and not much to add that has not been covered already
except you may want to get some pieces of 3M clear bra to put under the feet of the towers. The silicone feet can make for a mess after the rack has been on for a while. No perm damage though.
I also put a strip of clear bra behind the rear bar for the front wheels to rest on when using the wheel forks.

Good thinking on the clearbra. I had a wheel pop out of the wheel fork once.
Herd a *thud* and saw it roll off the back of my civic and get blasted by a Mac truck. I think I forgot to tighten the quick release, but I still don't use them to this day

lol, same thing happened to me once with a honda also
..but I was on a back road at the time with no traffic. I was slightly intoxicated at the moment of putting the wheel in so it was my own stupid fault. I typically use a cable lock to secure one or both wheels out of paranoia of theft.
