Default So where were all the S4s in CA last week?

I've just got back to the UK after spending 10 days driving around California. I was most disappointed not to see a single S4 anywhere!

I flew to San Francisco, where I hired a 3.8L Mustang. It was depressingly slow, and had awful brakes and handling. I decided to take Hwy 1 down to LA, and for about 100 miles south of Carmel I was wishing I was in my S4. It was foggy, which made it a waste of time taking the scenic route, but it was a fairly challenging drive with tight damp corners appearing out of nowhere.

Having never driven in the US before, I was impressed that people pulled over to let me pass. That would not happen in the UK!

Got to Malibu - no S4s. Stayed in Hollywood - still none. Down to Newport Beach via Beverley Hills - nope.

So, were you all at a convention in Vegas or something??

Default You were luck they moved over. Not normal for US drivers.

Default I dunno...where were you on the freeway at 5:30am when I was going to work each day?

Just come to one of our NorCal events...we got tons of them last time...about 20 of the 55 Audis that showed up at Dynospot Racing were new S4s.

Default should have stayed in Bay Area!

i'm seeing more and more of them lately in SF and i saw one as i was driving down to San Jose today. i've also seen 3 M5s in the past week and a weird, light blue Modena.

as for the people pulling over for you, are you sure you weren't driving on the wrong side of the road???

Default I was back there this weekend..

Came back up the I-5 from LA - my god is that a boring road or what?

I was staying near Cisco HQ in Santa Clara so I was expecting to see loads of Silicon Valley types cruising around in S4s.

I did see a large number of riced-up Civics however :-)

It was 55degF when I got back to Heathrow. Can someone give me a job in CA, please?

Default Must have been my "enthusiastic" driving style...

Either that or they thought I was a nutcase who was about to shunt them over the edge.

Default Re: There's not that many... I look for them every day

In the past 6 months I have only seen five here in Orange County, I wonder where they are myself.

Imola/Onyx Metro Pointe parking structure
Silver/Onyx Newport Coast Drive
Imola/Onyx Newport Coast Drive
Imola/Onyx PCH Laguna Beach (same one?)
Black/Onyx Aliso Veijo Stadium

So my theory is that Imola owners drive their cars more! =)
