Default some control arm questions...

I'm suspecting I might have a front control arm issue. Is there any physical way of telling.. ie, seeing it when car up/wheel off ?

Thanks,

Earnie

P.S. Link is to my previously asked "buried" question.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1500170.phtml</a

Default sounds like you've got some bad upper control arms. maybe even the lowers. ....

with the car up in the air, it helps if someone grabs the wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock and again at 12 and 6 o'clock while you feel/listen to the control arms knock. check all of the boots to be sure they're not torn either. good luck.

Default Try raising the car until the front wheels are a few inches off the ground.

Then place a 2x4 or similar pry bar under the wheel and lift up and down while someone is watching the control arms for movement/play. MAKE SURE THE CAR IS STABLE BEFORE WIGGLING.

Default Yeah little man makes it a different world here. Don't worry about the brakes. I'm not going to

drive nuts to florida. Was at Chad's till 3am working on the car stereo. I have my trunk back again and can carry a spare now. I also got my RS4 mirror housings today from this guy in Europe. I like getting new toys. :-)
