I think it may be a rock in the heatshield (again), but when i turn the wheel i hear a metal on rock or metal on metal screech that is driving me nutz, car drives fine but it sounds like an old heap... any areas I can shine a flashlight up into to look for this....

Last time it happened i made an appointment at my dealer but it had worked itself out by the time it went in.

I would hear an loud grinding noise comming from the left front of the engine bay when the steering wheel was turned in either direction, checked the power steering fluid level and it was fine. Finally had to have the power steering pump replaced to correct the problem.
