Default Stage 1 FATS anyone?

Okay, so as far as mods go there are none except for the ECU, and I got 4.79 secs. Is the Euro 6-speed manual transmission (DSY code) the same as the US one? How does 4.79 sound to other stage 1 people here?

Thanks,

Mihnea

The US transmissions are EDU code. Sounds like they have different gearing.

If 6500rpm in 3rd = ~91mph/147kph, then they're the same...otherwise they're different. Mihnea?

Default I know, hence my question...more inside:

I did start to log at 2K RPM in 3rd gear, went WOT at 3k and I've used a spreadsheet posted here for interpolating the VAG-Com times for accurate 4200 and 6500 RPM times. The result on that sheet is 4.79 secs. I only did the run in one direction but the road is absolutely flat and there was no wind outside.
Ambient temp was 1.0 degree C, which is low indeed.

I wish I could have logged with ECUx but on my ECU (551C euro ECU) it only works with the ECU on the bench, not inside the car... :-((( dunno why but APR will get an email about that ASAP!!!

Thanks for any other suggestions anyway. I'll do some more runs tomorrow and post the results here. I'll use a bit of highway and do 2 runs one way and 2 runs the other way, then we'll see what times are like...

Thanks again,

Mihnea

Default ooooooh, that's different...

I can't remember 6500 RPM in 3rd gear on mine but here's the DSY gear ratios as per the family pictures album (ETKA):

1: 3.5
2: 1.888
3: 1.32
4: 1.034
5: 0.8571
6: 0.729.

I'll try to get the EDU gear ratios, maybe in the AW model guide??? Dunno if my Euro ETKA will give me infos on US models...

Thanks for the idea anyway, it would make sense if my gears were totally different!

Not ridiculously fast w/the right weather conditions and gas, it's been done before.

Default Just checked ETKA

the EDU 3rd gear pinion is 33/25 teeth, i.e. 1.32 ratio. Same as DSY and RS4 trannys...
