Well, summer is over and winter is here. Which only means one thing - summer is right around the corner.

The goal, at least, for next summer is to go stage 3 in Miss. Santorin. I'm thinking about going with the FrankenTurbo F4H-BT turbos ($2,000 total with K04 inlets) and VAST fueling kit ($1,700). I have a couple questions, though...

1) Is it possible to go stage 3 for less than $4,000? I'm hoping to be able to find a used fueling kit (I'd also consider APR if I were going used), which goes for about $1,000, sometimes less. If I could find a used set of turbos, so be it, but I'll most likely end up buying them new.

2) Besides turbos and fueling, what else should I also think about purchasing? I'm not going to be pushing more than 450hp, so I don't plan on upgrading the clutch, but if it's recommended, I'll look into it. I already have an upgraded ECU, picking up my exhaust (SSAC most likely) when I get back home for Christmas break, but what else am I missing?

3) For those that have done it themselves, how easy is it to install the "kit" yourself? I'd probably have it tuned professionally afterward (if I do the install myself), how much will that cost roughly? Also, roughly how much does it cost to have someone install it for me if I bring them the parts (for those that have had a shop do the work)?

I'm going to save you a little bit of flaming and point you to the many technical threads based on stage III tuning on this site.

I see this is your first post, which of course, everyone has. However, you should use this site as a resource. All of the information you could ever want on tuning, turbo choices, supporting modifications and pricing can be found within the search function.

PS - Factor in a clutch. Trust me. You'll wind up stranded. Pulling off a sold stage III setup for less than $4000 is going to be difficult.
