stange noise at startup
every once in a while my car sputters, sounds like backfireing but not as loud. The dealer said that there were no codes, and that it might be my gas. I use 93,sunoco mostly, the dealer said that 89 would be ok, is this the problem??!?
I am running completely stock, no mods yet only 10,000 miles.

Politely ask the dealer to put down the pipe. "89 would be ok" sure in Bizarro World
Nothing under 91 is "ok". I feel bad for CA peeps where anything over 91 is not readily available.
As for the the sputtering, perhaps check with another dealer or someone else with an S4 to see if it's normal.
