Stasis Track Sport Rears and H-Sport Bars are in - Driving Impressions
Previously had the 332mm Stasis Track Sports only in the front.
With Porterfield RS4 front pads and OEM backs, the braking was better than stock, but the car would squirm a bit under sudden hard braking (premature ABS action in front) and the RS4 pads did not perform well when cold and wet (squealing and pulsing). When the larger rear kit went in I switched to Pagid 421s all the way around. Much nicer for me. Better bite, but not grabby at all, and easier to modulate the braking with less pedal effort around town. Haven't had a chance to test in the rain. Definitely feels balanced now.
The bars are a nice improvement over the stock bars as well. I have touring valved Stasis coilovers with 500f/600r springs. The H-sport bars dampen out this slight jiggly feel I had before at all 4 corners from residual rebound on broken pavement. Now it is a more even lift and fall sensation that settles out quickly. And no surprise, cornering and sweeping turns are flatter, with less pitching over. I can't comment on how ultimate grip is affected, only that for taking turns on the street, it's better with less drama. It's easy now to induce controlled 4 wheel drifts. Before, I felt like I was pushing a big sedan when taking a hard corner, now the car sets and holds the line you give it.
With the rear bar on the soft setting, turn in is better but not razor sharp, and still very neutral. With better sidewalls, tire pressure and the rear bar on stiff, I imagine this would improve.
