Default Step 2 down, 1 more to go. Yay!

<img src="http://www.daseighty.com/s4/worktwo.jpg">

Got the wheels back from the machine shop today. Holes were reamed from 12mm to 14mm and a new seat of 60* was set. Came out amazing, happy I went with these guys.

Trying them on my car this weekend just for a test fit. Monday they are off to the painter/polisher. Taken apart, sand blasted, powdercoated silver, lips fully polished and put back together. Hubcentric rings are being ordered on Weds.

Tires will be the final addition. Toyo T1-R's coming in early February.

Yea forgot to mention that. Everything but the lips will be powdercoated. Lips are straight polish.

Default lips will be bare?

That could be a maintenance headache. I had my wheels powdercoated and the machined lips do have clear powder on them. I don't know how much of an effect clearing polished metal would be versus machined, but have you considered doing the whole wheel?

Default yup...

Mike, if you do leave them bare you might want to look into LIS4's Zoop threads on the detailing forum. Could save you some work.

Default Make sure to clearcoat the metal on the lips as well as the rest of the wheel.

It will be a pain to clean otherwise.

Default yo das DONT be stupid, get the polished part powdercoated with a clear coat pcoat....it will last

for a LONG TIME pcoat is way better then paint clear coat.... it will make your rims shinier and deeper if you do the clear coat over the silver pcoat.....

also..... what color is your car? blue? you could also get a clear pcoat with a blue flake in it and it would be preetty crazy looking. the flakes are VERY VERY suttle....

here is super mirro red with a silver flake clear coat on top(two stage)

this second pic i powdercoated my motor cases super mirror black with a red flake clear coat... and the POLISHED PART had JUST red flake clear coat....
