Default Still have a Clutch pedal issue...anyone have ideas?

My tech indicated that it may be the clutch pedal bearing is shot and is causing the clutch pedal to engage poorly. This sort of makes sense but it happened all of a sudden when I bled my brakes and clutch slave a few months ago.

He re-bled the entire system (incl. clutch slave) several times and the pedal still squeaks and is hard to modulate. I was thinking and I guess the damage to the pedal bushing could have occurred when I was depressing clutch slave during bleeding process. Oh and the clutch engages and has plenty of grip the pedal is just hard to use and the pedal ends up popping past the engagement point.

The only other thing I could think of is that my car doesn't like the Motul 5.1 fluid I replace but I've read many have used it.

Please someone help me out...its driving me nuts!

Oh and I love my S4 still...even though the clutch squeaks!

Default Nope...Motul 5.1...but that is what made me think it could be the fluid?

Maybe I got a bad batch of Motul or something???

Default I would love to know if anyone (including yourself) figures this out.

I have been living with this issue for quite some time myself. The clutch pedal is just as you described; audibly squeaky, and very hard to modulate. Since this began I have had the fluids flushed/replaced several times, the engine and trans have been pulled (for turbo swap), and the clutch has been replaced with an RS4 unit. Not one technician ever "notices" the issue as I/you describe it, but it is really bothersome at times. Usually I can ignore the issue, and still enjoy my car, but on those bad days, when everything is annoying, oh boy does it boil my blood.

Anyway, if you find a solution, I would love to know what it is.

Thanks,
Aaron

Sure sounds like a mechanical (pedal cluster) issue, no?

Default Try this...

Get rid of the Motul and use AP Racing 551.

I'm not 100% sure if that will solve your problem since youre not using ATE BLUE.

If you WERE using ATE BLUE, replaceing it with AP Racing will definitely solve the squeaking problem.

AWE told me, they only use AP Racing because ATE BLUE causes the squeaking. They didn't mention anything about other fluids.

Default The only thing is its not just a squeaking sound...I could deal with that...

the pedal feel is the really problem and I can't see how fluid would cause that...but maybe so....I don't have any other ideas

Default Could be...I wonder how difficult it would be to replace the entire pedal cluster? And how expensive

Maybe I could just replace the bushing?
