Still need MBQ adapters for S4 Bose speaker swap? (crosspost)
Given that the front and rears are 5.25 and 6.5, wondering about the need for the Quart speaker adapters with the S4 Bose.
I read in one of the archives that matthewk said they were needed in front to fit aftermarket 5.25's correctly, wondering if anyone's had the same experience, and if they were needed on the 6.25's in back.
I'm hoping to duplicate matthewk's little trick of fitting 6.5's in the rear doors, we'll see.

I'm wondering the same thing, I just bought some 5 1/4 Diamond Hexes for my front doors...
and I need to know if I also need MBQ adapters for the front doors...also are they A4/S4 specific adapters?

yep you need them if you want the speaker to fit into the door right. the mount isn't flat.

also the 6" in the rear doors just require a little time with a dremel to the mounting ring.
