Stock 1/4 Times For S4
I am the current owner of an SVT Lightning which is an incredible hotrod (my 1/4 time with Superchip and Airaid airbox is 13.1), but I would like performance and refinement. I think the S4 would fit my bill. I wonder what kind of stock 1/4 times (I would imagine high 13's) you guys are getting. Is there a good aftermarket out there for goodies for the machine. Thanks.

Without replacing the turbos/stripping the car, look for high 12's-low 14's...
With an easy 2500rpm launch, I got a 14.39 at the strip with only an exhaust; if I'd had another run, I should have knocked another 0.2 off that time. Others have gotten a 13.9x with the same setup. With a performance chip and cat back exhaust, we've seen 13.17 on 100 octane. On pump gas and with a catback exhaust only, best times seem to be mid-13's. Best reported on the forum is a 13.08 with downpipes, 100 octane, a slipping clutch and at 1500' altitute, so with a good clutch and at sea level, high 12's should be quite possible.

My best time stock was 14.1. I think a 13.9 is possible under ideal conditions.
With chip only, 13.4-13.3s are possible. Chip exhasut and race gas and I hit 13.1. Hey, you can go as fast as your wallet is prepared to take you.

Make sure any chip you buy is returnable and take your car to the track to make sure it really is

Thanks for the replies guys. I was hoping for a bit quicker, but I am still intrigued by the machine, and have two dealer feelers out. The Lightning does spoil one a bit on the performance. Quite a few guys are getting into the 12's - mine ran 13.1 in crappy air. I began my interest in S4's in that it is the only car that has ever jumped me off the line in almost two years of street racing. It was before I was chipped, etc., and I got locked out of first gear, my going off too slowly. He got an immediate two or three car lengths on me, but I ultimately pulled him rather hard. My Superchip enables me to get into first gear anytime prior to hitting 40 mph. It is fun to take C5's and LS1's off the line. Of course as we approach 90-100 mph, that big mass starts losing out aerodynamically. Fortunately, most races are over before that happens.

hmmm that's pretty fast...
The lightnings I've seen ran 13.6 and 13.9...don't know their mods. I thought you had to change the supercharger pulley to get the really big power out of it.
Still, fun sleeper car...uh I mean truck. The fastest S4's with chip/exhaust have run 13.1 with good drivers. Typically average drivers run from mid 13's even into the 14s!
Stock best is 13.9 but it reqires pretty adept driving because the car has TONS of traction, a relatively soft clutch, a strange drive by wire throttle and a somewhat balky shifter.
The demands of the car explain the huge variations in times at dragstrips around the country.
Here, people have to post a timeslip or complete slip info or nobody believes em...hehehe we're a pretty tough forum for claims, we love to see slips because as much fun as a pickup truck is at a dragstrip, a 4-door Audi running 13's is a HOOT!
I ran a 13.8 with a chipped tiptronic S4 and dusted a late model Mustang GT with noisy exhaust...the expression on his face was priceless!
Huge aftermarket, kits for 500hp aren't too far away.
