Re: Stock 98 M3??
Don't have a time slip so you'll have to go with my memory. The guys at Roadfly.com reported times in the 14.1 to 14.5 range. The variation seems to depend on the condition (temp., track surface, elevation, etc.) and the drivers ability, mostly the launch. Oh, and those times are for a 5 speed. Someone might argue they turn a sub-14 but I would have to see it to believe it. Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. By the way, the turbo'd versions will run 119 in 11.9. I have seen a time slip for that...along with bills for new axles. Don't know about blowers. Don't like them so don't pay much attention.

Actually its the other way around the 95 M3 is the slowest because it has the 3.0 engine.......
while the 98 has the 3.2. I have seen stock
99 m3s run 13.9 and as for the 95, it will not
pull under a 14.4 or so.

As for bolt-ons...
European Car has been doing a project 95 M3 and putting on some common bolt-ons. They have done a cat-back exhaust, Active Autowerke/ECIS-heatshield, larger air masss meter, K&N filter and chip. W/these mods it put down 224hp and 217tq at the wheels, up from 217hp(this is a very hight stock number) and 201tq. Among other thing they have put in 21.5lb injectors and a new flywheel. If you have acess to Eurpean Car it is a good read, they are July-Sept 2001 issues.

Figure high 13s for the quarter mile...
...driven by a crazed madman on a mission from God.
My 3 liter '95 would get into the high thirteens on a good day (13.76 best, on a *terrific* day), and you should figure the 3.2 cars to be close to two-tenths quicker (potentially) because of the healthier torque curve down low and thru the mid range.
After market mods aren't going to be worth a ton unless you begin spending a lot of money.
I hear the Conforti "Shark Injector" and MAF mod is probably worth a tenth or two, and figure another tenth or two with a good header and exhaust added to the chip and intake mod.
Forget gears. The car is already aggressively geared, and stiffer gears will be bothersome (and actually slower) in everyday driving. At the drag strip, no gain unless you use slicks.
