A Stock B5 S4 Urban Holiday Shopper "Kill Story" :-P
So, I am motoring along at 5 over the speed limit (approx. 50 mph), trying to merge with traffic,... nothing on my left as I am moving left... and start to make my way into the desired lane when up pushes a Scion Xa with two luniacal sub-human freaks in it, motioning wildly to me, their furtive intent obviously to basically push me off the road and run me into the curb. A case of S4 envy I quickly surmised. These boys were bastages as you have probably gathered... bastages that needed to be taught a lesson in road manners. But, there was no time for schooling... only time for quick action... for inaction would most assuredly yield the horror that is the saga of the totalled B5 S4....
I did not panic, my S4 brothers, even though traffic was as thick as Grandma's strawberry preserves overcooking on the high burner.
As I dropped back after downshifting into third I found a nice little convenient niche in the passing lane and overtook the loonies in the Scion at 70+ while deftly upshifting to 4th and then into 5th. As I rolled by the miscreants they gestured to me with their middle digits... I took it to be the official Scion salute... but it rolled off of me like water off a freshly waxed S4's back... and I slipped far ahead of the clearly drugged out danger-boys. It felt good, it felt "bad" (in that good way), it felt wonderful, in spite of the fact that a Scion is much like a more modern Yugo on steroids.
I nodded in satisfaction and patted my S4's dashboard gently as I slipped into the night... away from the maddening shopper-crowds, and soon found a Shell station so I could reward my baby with sweet 93 Octane Shell Super at $1.87 a gallon.
I learned that victory may be sweet, but escaping a collision is surely sweeter... and sweetest of all is 93 octane fuel at $1.87 a gallon.
