Default Stock S4 tires: I need to get a replacement Michelin Pilot Sport, how do I make sure tread matches?

It's a long sad story how I ended up with "extra" wheels and tires, but basically here's my situation. I've got four Avus wheels with Blizzak LM-22's on the car now. Off the car I've got three Avus rims with minor damage that have stock Pilot Sports on them (roughly 7000 miles on them). And I have one Avus with minor damage that has no tire on it. I hear very good things about this Wheel Collision center in PA that repairs wheels for pretty reasonable rates and since it's only 50 miles away from me I figure I'll go get the wheels repaired. The question then is if I've already got three decent Pilot Sports, I might as well get one more (new, or used as long as it has some tread left). Now, I have seen a bunch of posts here on AW about the stock Pilot Sports being different (i.e. having a slightly different tread pattern) than the regular or aftermarket Pilot Sports. How can I be sure to get a hold of one that matches what I've got?

Default Well, for one thing, there's a "B" after the 225/45ZR1791Y on the sidewall.

You can see what I'm talking about in the link below. Also, in the same thread there are pictures of the difference between the tread pattern on the OEM PSs and the aftermarket ones.

There was also a post by an S4 owner complaining that replacements for the B-series were hard to get. Apparently, you have to call Michelin, provide them with your VIN # and then they will manufacture the tire for you (all of which takes extra time).

OEM "B-series" Pilot Sports

Default Here's the link to the post about replacement difficulties.

Although I think the poster is wrong about the B-series being exclusively for the Avant. I believe the sedans came with them also.

B-Series Replacement Woes
